Do you like History, and what about French History ?

With Chrono Cat's, have fun discovering or rediscovering History's important dates !

This card game was created by François Petit so French teenagers can have fun learning the dates
they must know for the "Chronology" part of the History and Geography exam
they have to take at the end of Middle School.

But the game is also for all of you who like to know historic reference points.

The game has one main rule, presented in "The game",
and 2 other rules,"Chrono Speed" and "One for all".

Chrono Speed

Aim : be the first player to give all your "event" cards by hitting as fast as possible on the right date to take the hand.

You place the "date" cards and you deal the "event" cards the same way as in the previous rule.

Then, the youngest player starts. He turns an "event" card over and reads the event. The players hit the right card on the table.

The fastest player to hit on the right date receives the card and places it on the table in front of him, face up.

Then it's his turn to turn an "event" card over and to read the event. The new winner receives this card and places it in front of him, and then turns the first card of his pile over...

As soon as a player has no "event" cards left, he wins the game.

Note :
- If there are 3 or 4 players, you don't have to deal all the "event" cards.
- If no one hits the right date, the "event" card is put aside
and it's the player on his right who turns an "event" card over.
One for all

In school, the principle of the game is the same but the teacher can deal only the "date" cards to groups of students (4 students per group).
Then he reads the events out loud and the students must hit as fast as possible on the right date.
The teacher can also decide that the students must wait until he has counted up to 3 to hit. It's a way to make sure they take enough time to think about the answer.

You can adapt the game depending on the level of the students. The teacher can take only the cards he needs or the cards the students know.

It's also possible to do a memory with the "event" card and the corresponding "date" card.

The game can also be played with 2 players.
In that case, the date cards can also be placed on the table, and the "event" cards are placed in a single stack.
Then each their turn, players take an "event" card and announce the event.
The second player must then quickly show the right date.
